Here is a quick overview of some Botox Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

  • Q: Is Botox effective on both Men and Women ?
  • A: Yes. There isn’t any difference between treatments between men and women. Often it will occur that mens skin is thicker, or the wrinkles are more pronounced, but these can also be treated. There is no limiting factor in the use of Botox for men. Depending on the level of wrinkles the dose of can be tweaked.
  • Q: How long will it take to administer Botox ?
  • A: Generally it will take a just a few minutes. The treatment would involve you coming to our offices, meeting the doctor and explaining exactly what areas you would like to be treated. Once this is done, the treatment area will be cleaned and then injected with a dose of Botox. Over all you should be in and out of our practise within 30 minutes.
  • Q: Does the injections hurt ?
  • A: A botox injection is no different to any other injection. In fact the needle size is quite small, so you should only feel a slight pricking sensation. Over timea and with more treatments the sensation may reduce, some patients report that they don’t  even feel the needle !
  • Q: How long will it take until I see results ?
  • A: Results will be seen within 5 to 10 days. Typically a swelling or puffiness will develop in the area, and after a few days this will not be noticeable.
  • Q: How long does the effects of a treatment last ?
  • A: Depending on the severity of the wrinkles, and the area effected, the treatment should result in  a smoothing up to 5 months.
